    Course summaryThis is an internationally recognised qualification. It is level 5 on the National Qualifications Framework. The cert TESOL; is designed for those with little or no previous teaching experience. The aim is to equip candidates with the basic skills and knowledge required to teach English as a second language. The course is focuses on examining aspects of grammar, lesson planning, teaching materials, classroom observations and phonology. Teaching practice is the main component of the course. Participants will teach groups and one to one classes to a mixture of levels and student backgrounds. This mix of students will expose trainees to a wide variety of classroom contexts. Moderation is taken on the final day, this involves an external moderator form Trinity college London coming to Cheltenham and assessing all written work completed throughout the course as well as teaching practice. All trainees will have an interview with the moderator.
